Rhode Island is the Ocean State so it only makes sense to bring your out-of-state friends to one of its many beautiful beaches. Choose from greats like First Beach in Newport, Narragansett Town Beach, or Roger W. Wheeler State Beach.
Garden City Center

If shopping is your thing, you can’t go wrong with a trip to Garden City Center in Cranston. Browse your favorite mall stores like, J Crew, Pottery Barn, and Sephora, along with a plethora a great places to eat, while still being able to enjoy the fresh air and sunshine. Stop by at night and you will catch it beautifully lit up with decorative lighting, plus you may be lucky enough to stumble upon a performance from local musicians in the Gazebo.

Block Island

“Sail away on the Block Island Ferry, take a trip back to care-free times.” Rhode Islander’s have been hearing that jingle every summer for the past two decades, and it really does speak a lot of truth. With 17 miles of beaches, Block Island is the perfect place to soak up the sun and have a couple of summery cocktails with your toes in the sand. If drinking is not your thing, rent a couple of bicycles or a moped to explore the beautiful sites, or head into the town to hit up the boutiques and do a little shopping.
