Sons of Liberty, a South Kingstown distillery, sent a bottle of single malt whiskey to Peyton Manning in anticipation of the New England Patriots winning the Super Bowl.

“We sent him Battle Cry,” Sons of Liberty owner Mike Reppucci told WPRO’s Anita Baffoni on Thursday. “It’s our single malt whiskey made from a Belgian tripel beer. We figured he could be drinking Battle Cry as he cries into the whiskey, because he lost.”

The whiskey was sent to his wife, Ashley, as a dig – according to news reports, HGH was sent to Mrs. Manning and not Manning himself. The note enclosed with the whiskey says “Sorry for addressing the package to your wife, we heard that’s the best way to get something to you.”

The Patriots take on the Broncos at 3:05 on Sunday in Denver.
