Congratulations to this week’s Showcase Cinemas High School Team of the Week: The Bay View Academy basketball team!
Captain Abbey Burke tells us…
“The Bay View basketball team should be the Showcase Cinemas High school team of the week because we are the first ever 2015 Credit Union High School girls basketball state champions!
We didn’t have a perfect season record but we overcame many obstacles and worked so hard and beat Lasalle academy in the state championship game. Bay View hasn’t won a championship in any sport in over 10 years. Bay View is an all girl catholic school in East Providence Rhode Island. Our basketball team has never beaten Lasalle in the state championships & our team has only been to the championships and won one other time.
This is the second time in school history our team has won a state championship!”
